The Tahawus Center in Au Sable Forks is where the community of the Ausable Valley and ideas in art and education come together in innovative projects. The Tahawus Center’s two floors above Main Street are home to the Windows Art Gallery, Learning Center, and the Cloudsplitter Dance Studio. Tahawus offers flexible, entertaining, gathering places, committed to serving the community, while opening a window to new initiatives and the best talent and culture of the region - and beyond.
1) Co-Production EXHIBITION SPACE in the 2nd floor Windows Gallery – curated group show, and paired exhibits in fine art, photography, crafts, quilts, woodworking, sculpture, or - you tell us your idea. 2) HOURLY RENTAL and SHORT TERM SPACE FOR:
Workshops, classes, educators, innovators, artisans - do you have a skill or an idea to teach or share? – 1-day masterclass, 3 or 4-day intensives, to 2-week projects. Click link for space use, short term rentals
Cloudsplitter Studio Do you need a spacious and beautiful studio in which to teach, rehearse, create? Ongoing activity classes such as health and fitness, kick-boxing, youth or adult dance classes, new family and parenting class, yoga and pilates, music/ band rehearsals. The dance studio can be available mornings, afternoons, evenings.
Single events for gatherings or showcase presentations
Family reunions, monthly club or business meetings, a play or poetry reading, auditions?
Artisan/ Maker Space - Are you an artist, potter, crafts person, a creator in need of space to set up equipment and work in a very pleasantly cool summer (basement) workspace?
